Managing your personal finances is an important life skill and developing financial literacy involves learning and practicing skills related to budgeting, saving, investing, paying off debts, and more. Our workshop will provide useful information about various financial literacy concepts for young people and look at financial literacy taught within the Ontario public school curriculum. We will also focus on two important areas of financial literacy which are income taxes and fraud prevention to help you keep and protect your money.
We will provide learning materials for the workshop and offer refreshments during the break and lunch to finish off our workshop. Parents and friends are welcome to join us and learn also. Send an email to us at wongsyouth@gmail.com to register and tell Brian Wong who is coming. Please register by the registration deadline of November 20 and we will reply back to confirm your registration. Free parking is available in the parking lot next to Pleasant View Library.
Note: This workshop is not a Toronto Public Library event.
Student participants will get one participation credit towards the Wongs Association book grant or scholarship awards. Volunteers will earn one additional participation credit if they help us with the seating setup and cleaning up.
